Gokyo Lake Trek Difficulty

Gokyo Lake Trekking is categorized as moderate level trekking in Khumbu Region; however it may get strenuous during winter and monsoon seasons due to extremely cold temperature and heavy rainfall or snowfalls. As it reaches 5,360 meters at the summit of Gokyo Peak, you may get AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). We recommend you to drink enough water and walk slowly while in higher altitude to minimize the risk of AMS. Moreover, taking one or two days for acclimatization helps a lot to accustom your body to higher altitude.

Elevation

The Trekking starts from an elevation of 1400 meters from Kathmandu and reaches maximum altitude at Gokyo Peak, 5,360 meters. Then we return to Kathmandu to conclude the trip.

Length

This incredible voyage ends in 15 days starting and ending at Kathmandu. In these 15 days Gokyo Lake Trekking, you will encounter Himalayan people belonging to diverse ethnic groups, diversity of floras and faunas as well as many Buddhist monasteries and pilgrimage sites. If this itinerary doesn’t suit you or don’t meet your interest, we also have the option of re-costuming the itinerary for our clients.
