When goggling the stunning landscapes like Khumbu region in Nepal, there is really only one way to truly comprehend the magnitude of its beauty – from the air.
Yes, walking through the mountains is also a good way for outstanding views but it’s from a helicopter that you really get to witness how massive, spectacular and tempting the Everest region is.
Mt. Everest standing at 29,029ft (8,848m) above the sea level, is without doubt the best adventure destination in the world. The grandeur and fascinating myths and mystery of Everest has lured travelers from all over the globe. However, the time, energy and insanity required to reach nearby Everest setbacks most of the trekkers.
The concept of Everest Base Camp Heli Tour has emerged to facilitate those travelers who have been constrained by time frame and fitness level. Helicopter tour is the best available option to get so close to the Everest (almost in touching distance) to awe amidst of towering peaks that are simply ecstatic in short time period.
Everest Heli tour starts at Kathmandu airport and flies northeast towards Everest. We do not take-off until our mountain experts and heli crew are fully assured of weather.
During our flight journey, we will be rewarded with stunning portraits of the Himalayas, tranquil verdant valleys, glittering snow peaks. On the way, we will stop over at small heliport of Lukla – a popular gateway to Everest. After refueling, we fly north towards the collection of tallest mountains in the world. We make sure to dedicate a portable oxygen cylinder to each of travelers as a safety back-up.
On this flight, we don’t land at Everest instead we go for Kalapatthar which is more scenic and surreal in every sense. We land at Kalapatthar with our medically trained guide allowing time to photograph next to Mt. Everest. Beside Everest, we will be able to witness the mountains like Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamaserku, Kongde, Gaurishankery, Numbur and other peaks. On our return leg, we land at Pheriche and later at Everest view hotel for heartily breakfast at world’s highest hotel. Then we fly towards Lukla and after refueling, fly back to Kathmandu.
Spring (March – May) and fall (September – November) are the best time of the year for Mt. Everest Helicopter Tour. The weather tends to remain stable and views are usually clear. Stable weather means there is less chance of fight cancellation and risk
