Annapurna Circuit Trekking was opened for foreign trekkers in 1977. Since its opening, it is one of the famous trekking in Annapurna Region and also one of the most spectacular trekking destinations in the world that offers lush green valleys and fascinating villages along with the awe-inspiring views of snow-clad White Himalayas. 

Starting from 1400m elevation the trek reaches 5,416m at Thorong La pass, offering you enough chances to explore the diverse terrains and landscapes along with the varieties of floras and faunas in one trip. You can also witness the splendid views of some of the highest peaks of world including Dhaulagiri (7th highest), Manaslu (8th highest), and Annapurna I (10th highest). Additionally, a trekker can explore rural mystic villages of Gurung and Magar communities residing in the Annapurna Region and learn about their spiritual connection with high Himalayas. 

Another major attraction of Annapurna Circuit Trek is sacred temple Muktinath. This is a famous pilgrimage site of both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Muktinath is believed to be one of the thousands incarnation of lord Vishnu. If you take a bath in chilled water of 108 taps in Muktinath, all of your sins will be washed away and you will get salvation. If you don’t like to take bath in chilled water, there is another famous point of Annapurna Circuit Trek, Tatopani that offers chance to take bath in natural hot water springs. Beyond these, you will explore numerous natural miracles during this trek. 

Annapurna Circuit Trek Difficulty 

The normal Annapurna Circuit Trekking is considered as a moderate trekking however it may include some strenuous walking route too. The trekking season also plays vital role in difficulty level of Annapurna Circuit Trek. If you trek in offseason like monsoon and winter the trek gets tougher. 

Additionally, as you are trekking to high altitude you may feel some breathing problem and other mountain sickness if you lack enough preparations and guideline. Manage one or two days to rest between your trekking days so that your body will acclimatize with high altitude and you feel more comfortable in waking. 

Elevation

The Annapurna Circuit Trek starts from Kathmandu at 1400m elevation and reaches its highest point at Thorong La pass that lies at 5,416m altitude from sea level. Then the elevation gradually decreases till Pokhara reaching 840m and again increases to 1400m in Kathmandu towards the end of the trek. 

Length

Annapurna Circuit Trekking length differs from companies and packages they offer. It starts from 14 days to 25 days or more. In this package we have managed a 16 days Annapurna Circuit Trekking package that includes one acclimatization day and one sightseeing day in Kathmandu. 

Best Season for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Trekking in Nepal is best in spring and autumn season. These seasons offer perfect weather that suits every people throughout the world. Moreover, the clear sky makes views more alluring and the days are also long so that you can walk more hours to reach the destination. 

Monsoon and winter are also good seasons to trek but you may face different challenges in higher altitude like extremely cold temperature and icefalls. Some trails are disturbed due to landslides, too. However this is the best season for botanical researchers and solo trekking lovers.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule (840m), 7 hours’ drive

Day 04: Trek from Bhulbhule to Jagat village (1,300m), 5 hours walk

Day 05: Trek from Jagat to Danakyu (2,300m), 5 hours

Day 06: Trek from Danakyu to Chame (2,670m), 5 hours

Day 07: Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang (3,300m), 5 hours

Day 08: Trek from Upper Pisang to Manang Village (3,540m) via Ghyaru, 6 hours

Day 09: Acclimatization Day, explore Manang village

Day 10: Trek from Manang to Ledar (4,200m), 4 hours

Day 11: Trek from Ledar to Thorong Phedi (4,450m), 3 hours

Day 12: Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via. Thorong La pass (5,416m), 8 hours

Day 13: Drive from Muktinath to Tatopani (2,700m), 5-6 hours

Day 14: Drive from Tatopani to Pokhara (850m), 5 hours

Day 15: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 8 hours

Welcome to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport you will meet our office representative holding a placard of your name. He will help you escort to designated hotel. After check-in to hotel, you can relax in Hotel or go for city tour around the hotel if time permits. We will host Welcome Dinner at evening.

Today, we will enjoy the Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour. We will explore the major highlights of valley including the UNESCO world heritage sites. Firstly, we will make a visit to most sacred Hindu Temple, Pashupatinath. The main Temple of Pashupatinath is permitted to enter for Hindus only; however non Hindu can enjoy the excellent surrounding of Pashupatinath Area. Then we will visit Bouddanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa (The Monkey Temple) and a historical palace in Lalitpur, Patan Durbar Square. If time permits, we will also make a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Finally, we return back to hotel and rest for overnight. Overnight in Hotel, Meals Included – Breakfast

Leaving Kathmandu behind, we will drive to Bhulbhule to start our walking journey in incredible Annapurna Circuit. Passing through the picturesque terrains, patches of countryside villages and rolling hills, we reach Bhulbhule after 7 hours from Kathmandu in a private vehicle. This lovely village offers impressive vistas of Lamjung Himal, Manaslu, Nadi Chuli (Peak 29) and many other snow-capped peaks. Overnight at Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Starting the journey in early morning, we will hike up to Jagat village taking approximately 5 hours. During the walk we can observe the V shape image of Marshyangdi Valley. Continuing the hike, we traverse Syange and descend to river bank. And at the last part of the today’s walk, we will trek to Jagat village to stay overnight. Jagat is a small and beautiful village inhabited by few Tamang and Gurung tribes. Overnight at Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After having warm breakfast in Jagat, we will head towards Danakyu that lies at an altitude of 2,300 meters from sea level. During the trek we traverse fir and pine wooded areas. Also, we will make a visit to local Gompa (Monastery) in the trail. On reaching Danakyu, we will be rewarded with eye-catching vistas of Mount Manaslu and Peak 29. Overnight at Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today we will trek to the district headquarter of Manang lying at an altitude of 2,670 meters. On the way we will observe well known Dudh Koshi River flowing from the southern face of Manaslu. Moreover, we will notice Marshyangdi River swerving to the left side along with the mesmerizing view of Annapurna II. Then we will pass through fir woods to reach Chame for overnight stay. Accommodation – Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After taking relishing breakfast at Chame, we will start our hike with the awe-inspiring view of Lamjung Himal (6,893m) along with the first rays of sun over the stunning White Mountain peaks making it tantalizing. On the way to Pisang, we will reach Brathang Village where you can explore marvelous waterfall. Moreover, we can also explore the beautiful Mani Walls before reaching Pisang. Today, we will trek to Ghyaru Village from Pisang in the first part of the trek to enjoy the awe-inspiring views of Annapurna II and Annapurna III. From Ghyaru, we stroll to Manang village that takes approximately 6 hours. We traverse many grasslands and observe wonderful vistas of Annapurna Massifs before reaching Manang Village. Today, we will rest in Manang village in order to properly accustom our body with high elevation and avoid the risk of altitude sickness. It’s better to roam around village than resting in one place. So, we will explore the village and witness Gangapurna Lake, visit Mountaineering school that gives basic mountaineering training etc. Accommodation – Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After having breakfast in Manang village, we walk for about 4 hours to reach beautiful village Ledar situated at an altitude of 4200 meters. During the trekking, we witness breathtaking views of Annapurna along with impressive Hiunchuli and Peak 29 at our back. The trail then reaches Gunsang village, and head to Ledar after crossing Gundon River. Accommodation – Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Though we will walk for short hours today, it’s going to be tough one as we pass through the steep uphill trail and also a slender track that move diagonally to an rough hill before reaching Thorong La Phedi. On reaching here, we will witness the overwhelming beauties of surrounding and rest for remaining day. Accommodation – Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

We will take breakfast in early morning and start descending to Marshyangdi River, then cross the river on a wooden bridge. Then we will follow a steep narrow trail to reach Thorong La pass lying at an altitude of 5,461 meters from sea level. After traversing this pass, we will descend to sacred land Muktinath. Here, we pay our respect to Muktinath (incarnation of lord Vishnu). This is also famous pilgrimage site of Buddhists. Here you will find 108 stone taps. It is believed that taking bath in this chilled water of 108 taps washes away all you sins and bad works and rewards you ‘Mukti’ or salvation. Overnight stay at Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After paying homage to lord Muktinath, we will start driving toward Tatopani in a private vehicle. On the trail, we pass through several beautiful settlements, luring valleys, rolling hills and also get impressive vistas of Annapurna and Hiunchuli massifs. After driving for 5 to 6 hours we will reach Tatopani where we will rest overnight. Accommodation – Tea House, Meals Included – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today, we will drive to Pokhara from Tatopani via Beni in a private vehicle. On reaching Pokhara, we will check in to Hotel and start roaming in beautiful Pokhara city. If time permits we will do boating in Phewa Lake and walk around the lake to enjoy the tranquil environment. Tonight, you can enjoy the completion of Annapurna Circuit Trekking. Overnight in Hotel, Meals Included – Breakfast and Lunch
